Terms of Service

1. Estimates & Booking

1. Non-binding estimates: Calculated from the information you provide. Final charges reflect actual labor, materials, travel, access, and additional services.
2. Binding/not-to-exceed quotes: Offered after on-site or virtual surveys. Material changes to inventory or access may require a revised agreement.
3. Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure a move date. Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled start forfeit the deposit; rescheduling inside 72 hours may incur fees.

2. Customer Responsibilities

1. Provide safe access, including elevators, parking permits, and HOA approvals (unless arranged with us).
2. Pack items not included in our packing service, disconnect appliances, and secure valuables and critical documents.
3. Ensure inventory accuracy; significant changes can affect crew size, truck availability, and cost.
4. Have an authorized decision maker on-site or reachable by phone to sign documents and approve services.

3. Payment Terms

1. We accept major credit cards, ACH, cashiers checks, and approved company checks; personal checks require prior approval.
2. Balances are due upon completion of services unless otherwise specified. Storage or long-distance moves may follow phased payment schedules.
3. Past-due invoices incur 1.5% monthly interest (or the maximum allowed by law) and collection costs, including attorney fees.

4. Valuation & Claims

1. Released Value Protection: Included at no cost, covering $0.60 per pound per item.
2. Full Value Protection: Available for purchase prior to move day, providing repair, replacement, or reimbursement at current market value.
3. Exclusions: Cash, jewelry, firearms, hazardous materials, perishables, or irreplaceable documents should be transported personally unless a written agreement states otherwise.
4. Claims: Report damages within 72 hours to claims@stlouisbestmoving.com with photos and descriptions. We typically resolve claims within 10 business days.

5. Limitation of Liability

1. We are not liable for delays or issues caused by weather, traffic, civil unrest, acts of God, or events beyond our control.
2. We are not responsible for internal mechanical or electrical failures of appliances or electronics unless physical damage is evident.
3. Our liability is limited to the valuation coverage you select and the amount paid for services.

6. Storage Services

1. Storage is billed monthly; rent is due on the first day of each cycle.
2. Accounts more than 45 days past due may be subject to lien sale procedures consistent with Missouri law.
3. Insurance coverage in storage equals the selected valuation unless additional coverage is purchased.

7. Cancellation & Rescheduling

1. Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled start time may result in charges equal to four hours of labor or the deposit, whichever is greater.
2. Rescheduling is subject to availability; fees may apply for date changes inside 72 hours.

8. Special Items

Please notify us in advance about pianos, safes, hot tubs, artwork, oversized fitness equipment, or items exceeding 300 pounds. Additional crew members, equipment, or prep work may be required.

9. Non-Solicitation

You agree not to solicit or hire St. Louis Best Moving LLC employees for separate services during the job or within 12 months thereafter. Breach results in a placement fee equal to the employee’s annual compensation.

10. Dispute Resolution

Disputes will first be addressed in good faith. Unresolved matters proceed to binding arbitration in St. Louis, Missouri under American Arbitration Association rules. Each party bears its own costs. These Terms are governed by Missouri law.

11. Amendments

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes apply to bookings made after the revised date. We will notify customers of material changes via email or website notices.

12. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with signed estimates, bills of lading, and valuation addenda, constitute the entire agreement between you and St. Louis Best Moving LLC.
